Just as "Rhonda" commented, it truly took me back to a place that I wish were still my home. Especially with the cows. I'm enjoying listening to all these beautiful recordings. So nice to have this on a very cold winter day.

I too have heard my red-eared slider chortle. it was a beautiful song!!!!! I am dissappointed that i haven't heard it in months. That is why I looked up singing turtles. I wondered if anyone else had heard of them singing.

The sounds are exciting, uplifting, and deeply connecting. I love the transition from the nighttime songs (usually bugs, frogs/toads, some birds) to the daytime songs (as in your recording). The moment the last frog voices is special, and the moment the first day bird sings is special. It's a new day!

Hi Lang,
Well, after weeks and weeks of trying to get this on film, I finally got a clip last night! When I first tried filming her she clammed right up and didn't make a sound. At one stage she even approached the camera (a web cam, Logitech 9000), and stared at it - she obviously knew something was different about her surroundings.
Then last night she started up again and I got film of several squeaks and wails.
The thing to do now is to have you login to our external server via secure ftp. Contact me at that email
and I will send you instructions how to get at it.
Regards, Bill

OK.. I understand most of what you are saying but it is a lot to digest. I know it will sink in later on. Your writing is concise and to the point. By the way, Amazon Dreams | The Music of Nature was a great choice for a title.

We live in Jay, NY and one day heard one of our chipmunks making the clucking noise you have above. I also noticed a broad wing hawk in the area, who perches nearby quite often. I did not make the connection between the two.

A week or so later I was sitting on our deck with my laptop and one our "Mr. Mumps" came up next to me. The scientist in me searched Google, it led me to this site! I played the clucking sound and turned up the volume - wow, Mr. Mumps ran under the logs behind me on the deck. While I won't torture him with the sound again, this was very interesting. Thanks for the great info.
